Hi, I'm Kimiko Rye—author, mother, lifelong reader, and dyslexic writer.
I have a soft spot for stories that ask difficult questions. Science fiction, horror, fantasy, literary fiction, and the occasional nonfiction book that sends me down a research rabbit hole all have a place on my shelves. The best stories don't just entertain us; they change the way we see ourselves and the world around us.
That's why I created this space.
Here you'll find a little bit of everything:
- Stories—serial fiction, short stories, and the occasional experiment.
- Book recommendations for readers who enjoy the kinds of stories I love to write.
- Behind-the-scenes posts about writing, worldbuilding, research, and what it's like navigating the publishing journey as a dyslexic author.
After nine months of writing, revising, and learning, I've recently completed my first novel, The Prometheus Redemption. While that manuscript makes its way through the publishing process, I'm turning my attention to a new serialized story, released chapter by chapter here, on Substack, and on Wattpad.
If you'd like each new installment delivered straight to your inbox, I'd love for you to subscribe below. No spam, no endless marketing—just new stories, occasional reflections, and updates whenever there's something worth sharing.
Thanks for stopping by, and thank you for being here at the beginning.
— Kimiko Rye
